The restaurant's welcoming atmosphere and accommodating staff contribute positively to the overall experience, with many praising the friendly and attentive service. Located conveniently in Houston, Pho Happiness is often described as a hidden gem that caters well to both locals and workers in the area, maintaining a consistent reputation for quality and value.
I came here with my fiance and we both ordered appetizers and pho. We both really enjoyed it and loved the atmosphere. Definitely a hidden gem.
Picked up a couple Banh Mi’s, egg rolls and spring rolls for a co worker and myself for a Saturday lunch. Co worker and I enjoyed our food.
Pho Happiness is my go-to spot! The fried rice is flavorful, perfectly cooked, and always fresh — honestly some of the best I’ve had in Houston. Their banh mi is just as amazing, packed with flavor and the perfect crunch on the bread. Prices are very reasonable, and the portions are generous. The service is always friendly, quick, and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing something to go, Pho Happiness never disappoints!
The cutest Pho place off of Hempstead close to Tidwell (Next to the Mad Bull Bar) . If you work in the area, you need to check them out. Their grilled pork is phenomenal and their Pho is so yummy. I asked for egg noodles in my Pho and they were so accommodating. The people that work there are the nicest. They also serve some Chinese dishes but I’ve only had their Vietnamese dishes. 10/10 definitely recommend!
I'm not loose with my five star reviews, but this place was definitely more than four stars. 4.5, so I had to round up. I'm going to do a real-time review since I have nothing else to do. I unexpectedly stopped here locally for the night and was a short walk from this place. I've had a very very strange day, so there might be something in the universe telling me to come here, even though I'm on a no carb kick. I came in about 1800 hours. I THINK they close at 1900, but I could be wrong. I was very delighted to see that they had actual Vietnamese people in here. The guy up front asked me if I wanted some sort of New Orleans Mandarin dish, but I came here for phó spring rolls!! The place overall is pretty clean. I know it's well kept. They had some Asian theme music videos with turtles and sea creatures playing on the TV. I've already interacted with three people, and they're all super nice and I can tell they appreciate me being here! As I sit here waiting for my food, I noticed that they have chili oil. For whatever reason at different phó places around the country, you don't see that very often. So I'm having a good feeling about this place, despite the day I've had. I ordered the deluxe combination phó and shrimp spring rolls. Depending on where you go, typically you just order spring rolls and you get shrimp and pork, but they had specific shrimp, chicken, or pork. Spring rolls were ON POINT. That peanut sauce was amazing. A nice healthy serving of Basil and bean sprouts in lime. Even with a little bit of cilantro! CHUNKS of jalapeño, not SLIVERS! Bowl size was HUGE. Like pre-SCAMdemic times huge, the way it should be. The broth... It was good. Definitely better than a lot of places I've been to. I don't know what liberal Larry down there is talking about being inundated with salt, it's not at all. Matter of fact I think it could use some MSG. Didn't notice any tripe, they might not have it here, but the meatballs, the tendon and the flank were all as close to perfect as you can get. Good healthy portions of everything actually, definitely what you're paying for. If I lived in this area, this would definitely be a place that I would frequent. But if you're an out-of-towner, and this happened to stumble upon this section of houston, I definitely definitely definitely recommend coming in here. Everything was absolutely fantastic! I typically stay on the outskirts of major cities, but this might be a reason that I actually come back!
I work down the street, I usually go to the Mexican restaurant right next to it. I seen these guys were open and I decided to give a try. I'm glad I did there PHO soup is delicious and the BAN MI was yummy! I recommend it.. I'll be coming back soon!
Very clean restaurant (smelt of pine sol where we walked in today at 11am). The pho was delicious. The Banh mi was very flavorful and the bread was soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The pork and shrimp vermicelli was average. The service was good. Although I’m not a fan when asking for water they sell you bottled water. The parking lot is small so I don’t know if it get busier at different times. Don’t let the exterior deter you b/c it totally looks like a dive restaurant. Would recommend. Although the vermicelli dish should’ve been better and the broth could be deeper with flavor. A solid 4 star. Note my rating system: 1 Star: I wouldn't recommend 2 Stars: Didn't hit my standards 3 Stars: Average (nothing special) 4 Stars: Above Average. Would recommend. Still looking for the 5 Star. 5 Stars: Top of their game. Great food. Great service. Would recommend and plan on returning.
Maybe the real Happiness was in the Phở we met along the way. The food was delicious, the place was clean, and the service was excellent. Honestly, trying this place out made my day better.
